2009 Spartan Metro-Star

This pumper is mounted on a Spartan Metro-Star chassis, six-man, aluminum, four (4) door cab with a 10" raised roof. and is powered by a Cummins ISM-380, 380-HP engine with an Allison #MD-3066P 5-speed World transmission.

The pump is a Waterous model #CS, 1250 GPM single stage, controlled by a Fire Research pressure sensor governor. The pump system includes one (1) Hannay electric rewind booster reel with 200 feet of Niedner "Reel-Tex" booster hose, fed by a UPF Poly IIE booster tank, with a capacity of 1,000 gallons. Rapid water transfer is accomplished using a "Newton" Quick-Dump" electric dump valve. The booster tank also includes a sleeve in the rear, for storage of a Fol-Da-Tank, model #FDT-1500, 1,500 gallon portable pond, accessed through the rear compartment.

The body is 12-gauge stainless steel with painted Dover roll-up doors. Other options include a Redi-Line 1600 watt generator which powers two (2) Fire Research "Focus" 750 watt quartz lights; and numerous custom mounting brackets for equipment.

This pumper was delivered on January 25th to Terryville Company #4, the "Mountaineers".

Engine Tanker 8
Engine 8 is a 1996 Simon Duplex 6 man cab and chassis with a custom built body by gowans and knight in Watertown, CT. It features a 1250 gpm pump and carries 2000 gallons of water. It is capable of dumping all 2000 gallons in under 2 minutes through its electronic dump valve. It also carries 1200 feet of 5 inch supply line. It provides 3 preconnected crosslays of 150 feet 200 feet and 250 feet. It has been meticulously maintained throughout the years. Engine 8 was used in fire situations and parades.
